In a precedent decision, the BIA found respondent removable, where killing of civilians and acts of torture occurred during his command of the Salvadoran National Guard, and he interfered with investigations, and failed to hold the perpetrators accountable. This notice announces that the Secretary of Homeland Security has extended the designation of El Salvador for temporary protected status (TPS) for 18 months from its current expiration date of 9/9/10 through 3/9/12.
